Enjoy Golf in Magical India, March 2013
Play golf ? Enjoy travel? Listen to this! Did you know that the first golf club out-side the British Isles was established in 1829 in Calcutta (Kolkata), the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC)? Would you like to play 18 holes on this par 72 course?
GOLF FOR HOPE is a ten day experience of a lifetime for just 20 golfers (in March 2013)! You will stay in the Tollygunge Country Club in Calcutta. Tee times have been arranged and booked for you there and at the RCGC. A highlight of the trip will be the HOPE Golf Cup Tournament at the Tollygunge Golf Club in association with our Indian friends, in an East meets West clash!
Along with golf, which can be played every day at the Tollygunge Club, there is tennis, squash, horse riding, swimming and an ayurvedic centre. You can take in the sights of Calcutta on a river cruise on the river Hooghly, a tributary of the Ganges. There will also be an opportunity to visit Mother Teresa’s Tomb, the Victoria Memorial, Birla Temple and much more.
As well as golf and sightseeing, the group will visit various HOPE children’s projects in Calcutta to see at first hand the work of The Hope Foundation.
The cost per person is approx €1,500 (flight costs can fluctuate according to time of booking). This covers flights, transfers, accommodation on a B&B basis, 4 rounds of golf (3 in the Tollygunge Country Club & 1 in the Royal Calcutta Golf Club) and a river cruise in Calcutta.
