15-24 Mar: A unique networking opportunity for Irish businesses to meet their India counterparts while immersing themselves in the Indian capital of culture, GOLF FOR HOPE will give Irish business people an opportunity to play Golf in one of the world’s oldest Golf Clubs.
This ten day experience of a lifetime for just 20 people takes place from the 15th – 24th March 2013 and is being backed by top businessmen from the Kolkata Chamber of Commerce, with a highlight of the tour being The HOPE Golf Cup fundraising Tournament and dinner at the Tollygunge Golf Club, where leading health, education and finance professionals will be in attendance.
As well as golf and sightseeing, such as a river cruise of the Ganges, participants will visit HOPEs children’s projects in Kolkata to see firsthand the work of The Hope Foundation where they will get the opportunity to see just where fundraised money is being invested. This is a chance for people to give a little back, spending time with children who have been given so little, yet have so much joy to share.
Club members are looking forward to extending the hand of welcome to the visitors. They will be inviting them to cultural evenings of music, food and art in their homes.
Lending his support to the GOLF FOR HOPE initiative and inviting all Golf enthusiasts to take part in the trip, Irish Golfing champion Padraig Harrington said, “It is heartening that even in these challenging economic times for many people in our own country, they willingly continue to support HOPE and their work of rescuing children in India, changing lives and building a sustainable future for them. I am delighted to support the ongoing tremendous work of HOPE and encourage golfers to take this opportunity to play at the first ever golf club to be established outside of the British Isles in 1829 ‘The Royal Calcutta Golf Club’ – where I played as an amateur and would certainly recommend, along with a visit to the wonderful HOPE projects to see how together we can make a difference.”
Costing just €1,500, this is an exceptional opportunity for any keen golfer or travel enthusiast and an ideal opportunity for businesses to promote Ireland in India, as well as encouraging Indian Golfers and Businesses to return to Ireland in 2013 for The Gathering.
