Padraig Harrington supports Golf for HOPE

Golf for HOPE, India, November 2012Three times major winner Padraig Harrington supports Golf for HOPE, a ten day experience of a lifetime for 20 golfers (in March 2013) in Calcutta (Kolkata), India. Padraig says:  “No child in this world should ever have to face the nightmare of abject poverty, homelessness, physical and sexual abuse that is the everyday reality on the streets of Calcutta. I am delighted to support the ongoing tremendous work of HOPE and encourage golfers to take this opportunity to play at the first ever golf club to be established outside of Britain and Ireland in 1829, The Royal Calcutta Golf Club – where I played as an amateur and would certainly recommend, along with a visit to the wonderful HOPE projects to see how together we can make a difference”.

Participants on this trip will stay in the Tollygunge Country Club in Calcutta. Tee times have been arranged and booked there and also at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club. A highlight of the trip will be the HOPE Golf Cup Tournament at the Tollygunge Golf Club on 8th November in association with our Indian friends, in an East meets West clash.  Along with golf, you can take in the sights of Calcutta and there will be an opportunity to visit Mother Teresa’s Tomb, Birla Temple and more. The group will also visit various HOPE children’s projects in Calcutta to see at first hand the work of The Hope Foundation.
