Newly Crowned Miss Ireland Jasmine Gerhardt joins The Hope Foundation as charity Ambassador ahead of Trip to Kolkata, India

Following her remarkable win in November, Jasmine is set to embark on a journey of compassion and advocacy as she takes on the role of Ambassador for The Hope Foundation (HOPE), the Cork-based charity dedicated to supporting street-connected and slum dwelling children in Kolkata, India.

Ms Gerhardt, a passionate advocate for human rights and a graduate in law, brings her unwavering commitment to social justice to her new role with HOPE. Her dedication to uplifting marginalized communities aligns perfectly with the mission of the organisation, which runs 58 projects in West Bengal focusing on child protection, education, healthcare, vocational training, and emergency response.

As part of her duties, Jasmine Gerhardt will soon travel to India with HOPE to visit their projects and engage with the children and communities they support. During her visit, Jasmine will deliver talks about education and female empowerment to some of the girls under the care of the foundation, and encourage them to keep chasing their dreams, all topics which she says are very close to her heart.

“I am deeply honoured to be appointed as an Ambassador for The Hope Foundation,” said Ms Gerhardt. “I believe that every child deserves access to education, healthcare, and a safe environment to thrive. I am eager to work alongside The Hope Foundation in their vital mission of providing hope and opportunity to the children of Kolkata.”

Maureen Forrest, Founding President of The Hope Foundation, was delighted to welcome Jasmine, saying “I extend the warmest of welcomes to Miss Ireland Jasmine Gerhardt as our new ambassador. We are thrilled to have you join us in our mission to bring positive change to the lives of some of the most underprivileged children in India. Your visit to Kolkata will not only be a transformative experience for you but will also shine a light on the incredible work being done in our projects. Together, we can make a difference and spread hope to those who need it most.”

Jasmine is also raising funds for HOPE - some of which will go towards the crucial treatment costs for the patients in need of urgent care at HOPE Hospital.
