What is DI?
DI is about developing community-based services to prevent the need for children stay in long-term Residential Childcare Centres. The aim of DI is to reunite the children with their families, or extended family members, following family strengthening interventions.
Our protection programmes support the most vulnerable children in Kolkata. Our work began in 1999 with the rescue of highly vulnerable children but has evolved over the years to include projects that reduce the instances and risks that result in children needing protection. Every effort is made to restore a child to their family once they have been rescued.
HOPE tackles the root causes of poverty because we are striving for a world where it should never hurt to be a child.
